Ed's Heads artist will collect your downed palms

Suzy Fleming Leonard — FLORIDA TODAY

Is your yard littered with sabal palms? Do you hate the thought of having post-storm palm debris stacked on your curb for who knows how long?

Call Ed Volonnino. He'll turn Hurricane Irma's mess into artwork.

He's been carving his Ed's Heads tikis on the Space Coast since the 1970s. He said trees downed by the storm can supply him with enough palm logs to create tiki art for a year.

He began collecting storm debris after the hurricanes of 2004. He also collected trees last year after Hurricane Matthew.

So, if you've got trees you'd like to save from the landfill, or trees you just want gone, contact Volonnino. Email [email protected], call 321-255-9835 or visit his website, edsheadstikis.com.

Ed Volonnino has been carving tikis on the Space Coast since the late 1970s.
