Story about Ed on PM Magazine TV show
Sculptor featured on PM Magazine
The Times — Wednesday, January 30, 1985
If you see a couple familiar faces on "PM Magazine" tonight, you won't be alone.
South Brevard sculptor Ed Volonnino and a few of his famous "Ed's Heads" carvings will be featured on the show, co-hosted by John O'Connor and Beth Wood.
To film the episode, O'Connor and Volonnino went to the various Brevard County locations where the carver's works are displayed.
Volonnino's work is seen in the restaurant of Holiday Inn Oceanfront in Indialantic, Merritt Square Mall in Merritt Island and the Crossway Inn in Cocoa Beach.
Volonnino also carved a totem pole seen on the cover of singer Leon Russell's album "Solid State."
A resident of Indialantic, Volonnino has been a carver for 10 years. His favorite woods for carving are palm and driftwood.
If you miss Volonnino tonight, you can probably find him some warm, sunny afternoon at the corner of Eau Gallie Boulevard and S.R. A1A, where he loves to sit and carve while watching motorists pass by.
